UK Tour - Part 5 Homeward Bound

After all the excitement of Christmas, we stepped it up and went on partying, harder, faster and stronger. It was great to catch the occasional break from it all. Here is Olive and Tom Jr chilling in Granny G'nT's telly seat:

...Ma and Pa's friends came from all over northern England for a lightning strike session...

...and then that was it. We were back to London on Mama's b'day. I got to meet her aunt and uncle and we -well, strictly speaking they- ate and drank Spanish food and wine. Here I am with Angela, my great aunt.

...then it was New Year's Eve. We had a good get together with friends and Daddy's family; eating too much....

...and some of us drinking too much as well. It came as no surprise that the two messiest revellers were my Dad and my uncle. They started trying to do Russian folk dancing and notwithstanding their obvious lack of talent, didn't have enough control over their limbs even if they had had any talent.
...Tom Jr's Ma promptly took uncle Phil home!!

The next morning we had the epic mission back to a very rainy Vancouver. Papa was very quiet muttering something about honouring his pal Buzzer with "silent reading" all the way home.

Yay Happy New Year!

Party Girl

P - A - R - T - why? Coz I gotta!

So no end of fun round here these days. Had another party. As it should be. Annie the (self-styled) neighbourhood Granny organised a top bash just for me.

I was weighed at the start to see how heavy I had become. A bit rude I thought, but everyone seemed to think my weight gain was definitely an achievement. We played pass the baby and opened tons of pressies, all for me. Yay.

Not to mention the food. Get a look at that juicy cake.

None for me of course, but it kept the old fogies quiet for ten minutes. Nice to see some oooohs and aaaahs focused on something other than me. Fortunately it didn't last for too long either...

...but can you blame 'em? Damn I'm good at cute. Although, mostly, I was sleeping for that party, it once again reminded me Mam of having to carry home me Pop (and vice versa, so Daddy says). Thanks Annie and everyone -Petra, Mrs Bayer, Jean, Isobel, Tita Linda, Lola Mila and of course Gordon- for a fan-dabby-doozy party.

Hey it's tiring work socialising all the time. Here, I am in Gordon's arms, but Lola and me got our heads down on the couch for a few zeds. Right in fornt of everyone too. hehehehe my cool jetlagged Lola... Hope she doesn't mind me telling everyone.

Ach what the heck, as Oscar Wilde would say: “Hear no evil, speak no evil - and you'll never be invited to a party”

More gossip later.

Party at Maya's

Hahahahahahaahha... Ma and Pa said they like to party. Cooool. So I had a couple of pals round the other Saturday. It was great to have them over even if I did kip for most of it. No surprises there then; as Dad would say, chip off the old block.

In all fairness, Noa, who can walk now, could even tire out Roadrunner. Beep beep She is so fast the camera can rarely catch her...

...Here she is at home time, pausing long enough for her Mama to slip on some shoes. Having everyone over was worth it just to see Daddy nearly need to raid my diaper collection when Noa tempted Mango into killing her toy. It was really scary as she was at severe risk from claw attack. It was all ok in the end, but the old man was looking paler and greyer than usual. Few surprises that Amori and I slept through it all. Having said that...

...she can really pull it out for the camera when it matters though; 'nuff respect girl. Can't wait for the next party ladies.

Moving it and shaking it

Hello... back again after another hectic short while. My adventures here in Outer Canuckistan continue.

I have had some feedback questioning my ability to actually write this blog. Some have been so bold as to suggest that I may not be writing it all. Well hopefully this photo can straighten the matter out...

...admittedly the numbers are a bit of a stretch for my infant arms, but I need not remind you that I am a genius in training. Born to blog baby!!!

The old folks chilled out a bit after the beach trip. Apparently, I'm assured, the weather is about to change, so we did some tidying in the garden under some fabulous late September sun. We are a very functional family, largely due to my expert direction. As you can see here, I have a very hands off management style. It gives the old dears a sense of ownership of their chores too.

However, to encourage their future obedience, their work must be rewarded and it was with a fine social engagement later that evening. Moreover, I was feeling like a million bucks after receiving this personalised bunch of flowers from Sophie that were in fact a new wardrobe. Yay.

So later on, donning another new outfit from cousin Tom Jr and his oldies, I earned my cocktail wings at the oysters and wine in the sky party.

From the 915th floor (or something like it) of a condo in Yaletown we mingled and worked the room separately like true social butterflies until I pulled a Daddy-like manoeuvre, drank too much, passed out and they had to drive me home. Even though it was only milk, I think Mama and Papa were quietly pleased for it not to be either of them for once. Although the host kindly reminded everyone of the time Papa passed out between the main course and dessert and then again between dessert and coffee.

hahahahaha... Hey Papa, if you can't take it, you shouldn't drink it! Still they seemed to take in their stride and found it funny. All I can say is...

...laugh now, but one day I'll be in charge!

...with obvious acknowledgements, apologies or whatever to Banksy.
